Burg Pfalzgrafenstein is a 5-sided castle on an island in the middle of the River Rhein. The castle was built in the 1300s as a toll station. In the background you can see Burg Gutenfels on the hill in what is now German wine country. Floating past Kaub, Germany; June, 2018.

Very colorful and bright image of this German phenomenon, located at the small island Falkenau, known too as island Pfalz in the middle of the river Rhine, Ted.
Perfectly done!

The castle is so perfect it almost looks like a model, Ted, and with all these old structures, I do get a charge out of "Hotel" up there on the stone wall of the even older castle (I'm assuming it's older). I did notice the grape arbors in rows, high above the river, utilizing the slope of the hill (or mountain?) by creating terraces. A good use of limited space.
