Snagged this one while visiting a friend in Germany a few weeks back. He told me this building was used by the US Army command right after WW II. I believe it's a museum of some sort now. Hoschst, Germany; May, 2018.

Ted, I like to provide you with 'some' information about the Hoechster castle:
The castle was the residence of the officials of the Mainz archbishopric in the former city of Hoechst am Main, today a district of Frankfurt am Main. It consists of the Old Castle built in the 14th to 16th centuries and the 'New' Castle built at the end of the 16th century. In 1865, the New Castle became the property of the company 'Meister, Lucuis & Co', the later 'Farbwerke Hoechst'. 20 years later it was acquired by the widow of the firm owner Adolf von Bruening and she bought 1908 also the Old Castle. Both castles were confiscated by French troops after WW I (used as an officer's casino).
After the WW II, in 1945 both parts of the castle were seized by the American occupation forces. As of July 1945, the broadcasting center of the US American Army Network (AFN) was located here (with the crew quarters in the Old Castle), and remained until 1966.
The German Foundation for Monument Protection bought the Hoechster castle on January 1st, 2002 for a symbolic price and the castle was renovated (completed in 2013). The New Castle serves as an exclusive venue with fine dining and a cultural program now.

Thanks for your fine capture!

Maybe it's just me, but this architectural style reminds me a lot of Southern California missions I've seen. Very nice.
