Had to travel over the mountains to the Big City yesterday and stopped to capture this one. Rural Jefferson Co. on the Confederate Tribes of the Warm Springs Reservation, Oregon, USA.

These unique atmospheric anomalies that form only over mountains are extremely cool; I get the same rush from seeing them as I do when I come across an equally rare natural event, a murmuration of a flock of birds. With my luck, however I have seen only one of each in my life. In fact, the layered wave cloud I saw in 2010, in Glacier National Park, is a ways back in my gallery (but I was unable to capture the blackbirds destroying a sunflower field). So naturally I will be making a favorite of this one of yours, Ted, and snitching a copy for my iPad screen. Danke!
