Hope you are ready to go under the "Mighty Mac" bridge as some call it, it's really the Mackinac Bridge, then he turns us around and heads over to the famous Mackinac Island, Michigan. Only certain trips do the ferries go under for us all to see the underside.

Captured this just this past Saturday, Oct 17, 2015 when we girls were going over for our Annual Fall Walk. We wanted to chance the weather because there was the white stuff coming our way.

Make sure you view in full and you can see the Canadian Geese being chased away by the ferry. Took this image from the 2nd deck, outside in the cold (2C/35F) not including the wind chill, we Northerners are brave, lol.

Used Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 to bring out more detail and to brighten it up because of the sky above us. After I used Ipiccy.com to bring it down in size.

Hope you will enjoy our fun on this fun filled day. Thank You in Advance for your Comments & time.

Have a Sunny Day, ♥ Skates

Will start playing catch up today, please be patient.

Your pano treatment really emphasizes the clouds and long bridge. I've been across this bridge a couple times while on vacation. On windy days it's supposed to sway noticeably but I'm glad it wasn't doing it when we crossed. So when you shot this one you were in Lake Huron, right? Boating east of the bridge that, when I was there, I heard called the "Big Mac?" We also went out to Mackinaw Island, where only walkers, bikes and horses are allowed (no vehicles except the occasional ambulance brought by ferry). A cool place to visit. Another Caedesian, S.D. Lewis, submitted a 2006 photo of a spot along one of the the trails on the island, a natural stone arch. We saw the same arch and, although you can't see it in the photo, there's a beautifual white sand beach that can be seen through the lower portion of the arch (I don't know why Lewis didn't capture that). When I was there I didn't have a decent camera (2001) so I'm hoping you visited the island long enough to get some photos to submit, a trip down memory lane for me.

----we Northerners are brave----

I agree with you Pat, so it's not necessary for me to confirm this, lol.

Only at full screen size one get the proper impression of the wideness of the water, crossed over by the impressive Mackinac Bridge.

The dramatic sky has made your panoramic image complete! Perfect one my friend!

Truly, a gorgeous photo of the bridge, Pat. The blues are so pretty. I haven't been over this bridge since I was a very small child, but I remember thinking we'd never get to the other end. I would love the opportunity to sail beneath it.

Well I have been across this bridge numerous times, and have many story's to tell of it. Some of my earliest memory's are of seeing the bridge from a distance and thinking it was one of the most majestic things I have ever seen! It was the gateway to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan which was where my heart was. My mom hated this bridge with a passion, and would let someone from the bridge athority drive the car over. Not sure if they still offer the service, but if you couldn't or wouldn't drive across, someone from the transit authority would jump in the drivers seat and drive you across free of charge.
As far as the ferry to Mackinaw Island goes, I got real seasick for the first time riding it back in 1988. It was horrible. The grand hotel is real nice, but the island is pretty much a tourist trap.
