Here we go folks, let's enter the Royal Tyrrell Museum. This museum is in a town called Drumheller, Alberta in the badlands of east central Alberta, albout 1 1/2 hours drive from Calgary.

We have a big life size model of a "Gorgosurus Dinosaur" just inside after you purchase your ticket. It was a wonderful time and experience looking back at what roamed the earth on land and in the water.

Our grandson who is 5 years old was so excited, he loves dinosaurs and knows a lot of their names.

So much history inside and hope you enjoy the experience.

Only thing I did was bring out more detail using Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and iPiccy.com to make it smaller.

Thank You for your time and comments in advance.

Have a beautiful day, ♥ Skates

I'll play catch up on comment and viewing today.

Now you're talking my language, Pat. I've been working with dinosaurs for many years and my brain is now a dinosaur (just ask my kids). The Alberta badlands is part of a formation from the Cretaceous period, from 145.5 to 65.5 million years ago. Anywhere that soil is being eroded at a great rate, like the Hell Creek formation in North Dakota, you'll find big and little beasties in the ground. They've done a nice job with the landform in your photo, and the background, and I can see trackways in the "soil" to the right of the Gorgo's feet. Will be watching for more.

I wish I could visit that museum Pat. I am always fascinated by dinosaurs and all that happened during that period on earth. Very nice and sharp capture of this fellow.

Pat, imagine that this 'handsome critter' was still jumping through my garden. Think I would have been at least 'somewhat' nervous, lol.

Therefore I can understand very well the excitement of your grandson.

Thanks for this wonderful and interesting post, my friend!

When my doughter was about 5 years old we couldn't get her closer more than 10 meters to such a dinosaur maquette because she's been so frightened and crying badly. Nice capture in a not sufficient lighting conditions.
