The striped-marble cathedral that rises next to the Leaning Tower is the Piazza dei Miracoli" formally known as Piazza del Duomo.

When you look at the Leaning Tower it doesn't look like it leans as much if you view it from the backside viewing here.

OK folks let us head back to the car so we can go back to the villa in the hills outside of Florence. The walk to the car is around 3 miles, hope if doesn't tire you out.

Thank you in advance for your time and comments most welcomed.

Have a wonderful day, ♥ Skates

Will try and catch up on the commenting tomorrow. Good night and see you after church.

Pat, taken into to account that every image shows some perspective, it's like that the leaning tower of Pisa isn't leaning anymore.
When Italian people will view your wonderful image, I don't exclude that they are frightened, because a tower standing upright like a candle means a loss of income for them, ☺ ☺ ☺ .
Perfect shot however. Very well done, my friend.

We had a chance to go see this a few years ago...but family circumstances meant we had to cancel...A great picture of the two structures!

Well, well, now we get to see it in context with it's accompanying structure. I think the lean, Pat, is visually adjusted here by your lens. If it's an adjustable slide lens, like a telephoto or combination lens, you probably didn't have it set to 45mm, which shows in how the two sides of the Piazza slope inward at the top, and not at the same degree. If you want something to appear as close to how it does to our own eyes, a setting of 45mm is as close as you can get. The problem, however, is that 45mm is sometimes too close to what you want to capture (cropping out vital parts of the image), hence the development of long adjustable lenses. Diggin' your trip photos, Pat. This is the heart of the Renaissance art world, what I studied in college for a degree in fine art, and the only way I will likely ever get to see it is through your lens.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

So often, the capture of this iconic building is without the perspective of its surroundings as you provided here. Thanks for the perspective and the fine photography.
