Tremont, Maine (Acadia National Park), USA. The cliffside Bass Harbor Head Light in Tremont marks the entrance to Bass Harbor on the southwestern side of Mount Desert Island, Maine. It was built in 1858, stands 56 feet above mean high water. The original fifth-order Fresnel lens was replaced in late 1901 by a fourth-order lens that remains in use today. Enjoy!

Thad...

I have scoured this shot from top to bottom and east to west and cannot find a single tourist. Very nicely balanced composition. I wish the sky had a few dramatic clouds, but ya can't create clouds. Nice colors in the rocky shoreline and an interesting lighthouse.

A beautiful place and nice shot, Thad! Different colors of rocks, trees and and lighthouse are beautiful. You should have more photos than this one taken here. ;)

I like the angle where you took the lighthouse pic getting the water, rocky shore, tall pines with Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse.
I stayed in that campground right near there. Good work Thad!

Great composition in this photo. The beauty of the water, the rusticity of the rocks and the lighthouse atop set into the trees. I feel like I am on vacation. Nice work Thad. Fran

During my active career I preferred to see them from the sea side, but after my retitement I've no problems to see them from this side, lol.
Very fine post Thad.
