Rocky Hill, Connecticut, USA. Thanks to the good work of many geese, this pond maintains this 'lovely' shade of algae green. Yesterday morning, on the way to a photo shoot for a volunteer group, I drove by the pond seeing this cow standing, with no other animals nearby. Three hours later, returning home, the cow was still in the same place in the pond, only having turned around. In the distance a number of painted turtles were sunning on rocks. The cluster of cows shown in this post , missing earlier, were standing nearby paying her no attention.

Beautiful scene and an unusual addition to it with the cow. Cooling down or ventured a bit too far !

Yaaaaahh... maybe it's just me but that shape in the water, behind the cow, just below the bright green bush, looks a little like the eye and top of the head of a very large crocodile. I'm sure it's not... but... did you hear some frantic bellowing after you took this photo? Kinda like a cow saying "Oh darn!"

It sure makes for an interesting picture, I hope she was okay. I see what Nik mentioned, and it's rock with turtles on it, thank goodness.

Okay, now I'm worried about this surfin' cow in Connecticut! They aren't the smartest of creatures, ya know. And it looks to me like it's bleating for help.

Priceless shot and love that really big 1 turtle on the rock above the cows head. Maybe he was just really hot plus they may have been talking about crazy cow
