Cromwell, Connecticut, USA. This year, we had an abundance of blooms on our Asiatic Lilies, including some that had not bloomed in prior years. One plant had ten buds on top of a six-foot stem. This was one of the first that opened on that plant. Later in the day, the top was bent over, with the buds hanging low. Upon inspection, an insect had bored into the stem just below the buds and the plant could no loner support the flowers. :-( 100mm Macro, 1/320, f/9, ISO 320, AP

Whoah! I have never seen a flower photo quite like this, where the anther is this tack-sharp on top of the stamen filament. That can only mean the flower is huge... so what f-stop were you using? I rarely place a foof into my favorites file but this one is too impressive to leave alone, thanks Thad.

Very good macro, Thad.
Showing this Asiatic Lily this way, has an intriguing effect: it's like the pestle and stamens are trying to catch me now. They won't succeed in doing this however, ☺ .
A surprising approach with a very good result, my friend!

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
