Taken the other day while transiting through an Italian Dolomite mountain valley. There was just a dusting of snow. I'll take this opportunity to wish my friends and visitors to Caedes, all the best for this holiday season and the throughout the New Year!

Wow this is one stunning Christmas scene and the composition is one hundred percent with the trees running from left to right and the shed is set back just right.The detail in this photo and colours are superb and very nice light and amazing backdrop too.

This is a GREAT SHOT DOUG! this is what ive been waiting for around me. it happens almost every year when the conditions are right..rain then snow or freezing rain. now i will probably have to wait til early spring. its quite a sight to behold in the morning sun. well done with that old barn like shed in there.

Italian, huh? Until I read your post I thought it was out west somewhere. Living in the far north of the U.S., I see hoar frost fairly often, and photos of it just as often. They're usually run-of-the-mill but not this one. The inclusion of the dark wood shed, the rocky mountain background (that's a wall of rock instead of the stereotypical mountain peaks), and the fences on both sides, all in a pano format, gives this one loads of character. Very nice work, Doug. -Nik

Wow Doug!! This is gorgeous in every way. Beautiful colors; nicely balanced in this layout; great contrast and clarity!! Just spectacular!!!! I'm sending this to my son in Delaware who is in the USAF and was stationed at Aviano AFB a couple of years ago and went skiing in the Dolomites. He'll appreciate this even more than I do:) Great work:)
