Thought at first sight that I was back on the ocean. The reason for that may be that it's pretty early for me and I didn't have my early morning coffee yet. After viewing it at full screen size, I was shivering. Both of the beauty of your posting Rita, and from the cold (lol).

Marvellous view and ambience to this shot with not a living soul in sight...it really gives off a special feeling to see nothing but mountains and clouds and the light colors add a dreamy almost spiritual feel...a fave for me.
Several hundred years ago, stage sets for plays were created by standing sculpted and painted flats across the stage, like a line of rocks in the foreground, bushes where the actors stood, trees behind them and mountains behind the trees. A classic example is Georges Méliés' "Le Voyage Dans La Lune. The successive layers in this photo, from top to bottom, remind me of this artistic style. I love how the rolling hills at the bottom run from dark at the bottom to light at their tops, covered by a fall of snow. The mountains, however, are just the opposite—light at the bottom and dark at the top—probably a result of haze over long distances. The clouds return to the hills' style: dark bottoms and light tops. The details are delicate and the whole would make an excellent desktop. Very nice work. -Nik
