The spring along the Klickitat offers many surprises. I have sat along it, among the wildflowers and photographed hummingbirds all day long. Then photographed deer and mink. Not to mention the wildflowers, a more enchanting place is very hard to find.

The setting and the colours and the whole aura I get from this shot is just utterly amazing. One day I think my husband and I will need to do some travelling just so I can capture such beauty myself!!!

For being an eleven year old digital image, it looks pretty darn good, and could still stand up against the 18mp images of today. Of course, part of that is the gorgeous subject and excellent composition. I like how there's a large shaft of sunlight hitting just here in the foreground, the landscape darker in strong shade n the background.
