Inspired by the upcoming solar eclipse in the United States. I will be posting two images with Convergence: one with a corona and one without. If you have a taskbar on your screen and would like me to adjust the image to compensate or if you would like the image in a different screen size, message me and I would be happy to customize it for you! :)

Very well done with the corona Lisa. You have shown perfectly how the corona is weaker towards the edge. Hope you will have a clear sky during the eclipse.

The ratio is fine for mine, Lisa, and, considering what I use for my avatar here at Caedes, your image is more than appropriate for me. I have a solar filter for my 5" Orion reflector telescope that I plan to place over my camera lens on Monday--we're supposed to get 80%-85% of totality here--so I'm hoping that will be enough protection for my new Canon (if it's good enough for the telescope...?). I do have a camera adaptor for the Orion but the reach on it won't accommodate a DSLR, so if I want a shot of it I have to do a little jury-rigging.

Happy Trails

It's got to be 'without' for me Lisa!...that one seems to give a bit more impact to the eye!...

Join me in both Sandi's and Bob's comment above: a slightly preference above the other one, Lisa.

It's a pity that we can't see the phenomenon of a solar eclipse on the east side of the 'big pond'. Have read in the narrative and additional comment of this post of Ted that on certain places in the USA there will be, or already has, a hectic situation. Wish the photographers who'll try to capture
the solar eclipse, much success.

A special thanks and big hugs to everyone who took the time to comment twice, once on each image!! Much appreciated.

Good luck, Nik! I can't wait to see what your talent reaps from the experience.

Bob, I would tend to agree with you (and thank you for saying so). The crowd, however, seems to prefer their abstract eclipse with a bit more bling. :)

Great and appropo entry Lisa. We will be able to see about 89 percent of the eclipse from where we live tomorrow.

My goodness! Choices...I just like them both. What will I do. I guess I will have to give them egual time on my screen. Nice and imaginative Lisa.

Progress equals a trashed planet since mankind is too busy altering it. BTW find the classic definition of Caedes here. Enjoy yourself today (o: because you don't know what tomorrow may bring.
