I think this fellah needs a couple dozen more trees, if only to finish the oasis effect he's started here. I do like the effect you've created by punching up the contrast, John, and your title is perhaps the most appropriate of any. A standing joke here in North Dakota, because our plains are so wide open, is that the state tree is a telephone pole. I've seen many farmsteads here that are isolated like this, so it really rings true to me. Very nice. S&F.

If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.
Some of the farmers around here farm everything but the front and back yard John, so I am familiar with scenes much like this. I really like the starkness of the photo. The High Key really makes it stand out.

The starkness and simplicity here is captured so perfectly. This is definitely a favorite for me. The composition and angle make this a spectacular photo. WOW, I actually would love to go there. Bravo, John, this is a tremendous piece.
