Well done again Rob. Several of the young ladies look like they may have been related. Sisters or maybe cousins.

I agree with John about the look a likes, and she does have alot of attitude, I see her as a go getter and probably ahead of the times back then. Notice her hair is done so differently too. This is superb capture of the moment, and your selective editing is spot on! tigs=^..^=

The perfect selection and title, Rob. The spunky nature of the young lady, front and center, is illustrated not just with her hand on her hip but also the slight tilt to her torso, her full eyes (most of the girls have a slight squint) directed at the camera, the set of her jaw, and the half smile. The two on her far left are "besties", maybe a little silly and giggling, the one on her right looks up to her, the one behind and to her left is ambivalent but satisfied, while the girl in back on the right would much rather have stayed in bed... there's something on her mind. Our little lady in blue is determined to make more of her life than working in a cotton mill and very likely did. The thing that always strikes me about these photos you choose, Rob, is that if one zooms in to just the faces, they could be anyone from the current time period. Other than the clothing and hairstyles, in this one it's all about the faces. For the copy I just pulled for my desktop wallpapers folder, I have given her the name "Georgia"... to remind me of the location and because she looks like a "Georgia". Thanks again and keep 'em coming.

She could also be Norma Rae from a Sally Fields movie Rob.
I think you made the right choice, but I can't help but wonder why you chose her to colorize. It might have been interesting to choose one that is not centered. Then the defiant look of the one you chose would have worked for not being chosen. Stupendous work.

As I mentioned before, I'm sure most of these ladies have lived their lives and passed on long ago, I wonder what became of them. Great rework.

I think she had to be the one to win the colourization - she is a character - she has just said something funny about being asked to pose for the camera - can tell by the way the other girl looks at her. She is the centre of a pack of bright bubbly damsels !

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Your edit also makes her look like she's the only one who owns a bar of soap. And knows it. Everybody else just finished their shift in the coal mine and there won't be any sharing.

By colorizing the one...and by the way I think you chose wisely...you show your talent even more by comparison to the girls in black and white. It is interesting the choices you make in your minds eye. Definitely a gifted person.

Really like all the expression on the faces - the one you colourized looks like she had an attitude. This makes a outstanding one for the serious
