It may be easy for you, but I doubt I would find it easy Rob.
I like how you colorized the entire scene. I can remember when Ted Turner TV started colorizing b/w movies. It was quite the change.
Kudos to you on your wonderful work. Lincoln would have been pleased.

Easy to your skilled hands and experience, perhaps! I don't have the first clue as to how you do this. I am content in the firm belief that it's solely "Rob magic".

Love those blue eyes!

John Chester Buttre (1821-1893), was an American steel-plate engraver and lithographer, responsible for some 3,000 engraved portraits of American political, naval and military personalities. He produced a number of lithographs of Lincoln in full form like this one, as well as James Buchanan (president), John Charles Fremont (explorer), John Adams (president and Ambassador to England), King George III, Todd Lincoln (president's son), and Martin van Buren (president), and in each case he had them all standing the same way with the same tiny feet as those you see here on old Abe. Abraham Lincoln wore a size 14 shoe--that's practically a boat, folks--so you can see that Buttre took a fair amount of artistic license with his many portraits, orrrr... maybe he just wasn't very good with feet. I'm guessing that if Lincoln ever saw this image of himself he would have let out a huge guffaw since, during a political debate with Stephen A. Douglas, in which Douglas accused him of being two-faced, Lincoln replied "If I were two-faced, you think I'd wear this one?" He knew he was homely.

Rob, although I haven't the historical knowledge as shown by 'Nik' in his above comment, think that the original litho was meant to be a state's portrait of this great American statesman. It has all the 'ingredients' to be so. I'm with Tick that it wouldn't be an easy job for more than 99.99% of the Caedes-members. They simply lack the knowledge and skills to achieve such a result as you've shown here again, so don't be that humble, my friend.
Perfectly done again!
