Choose for a minimal colorization felt I had to keep the age. Did only the skin and enhanced the contrast hope you like.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

Minimal colorization and editing indeed, Rob.
Of course I have to respect your choice, but I like to say, being honest above being polite, that I prefer your useful and meanwhile well known way of editing and colorization.
To me this one is somewhat less appealing when compared with the previous one in your series. Think that we all were spoiled by you, ☺ ! Thanks anyhow for the done, and well appreciated effort, my friend!

Mmmmmm, I don't know... I think I'm with Cornelius on this one... I would have like to see a touch stronger color, just a touch, though. I had the lens inside my eyes replaced with artificial ones about 4 years ago, so I see colors and light like I was 10 years old again (I wish my teeth felt the same way), and I don't see a lot of difference between the sepia and the skin here. The image is great--reminds me of both Faust and DaVinci, for some reason--and I studied an enlarged copy in Photoshop to see that the lines are not on the original print (the frame lines are not affected and there's no impressed shadows on the paper) so they may very likely be cracks in the glass plate. I saw this many times in prints made from cracked plates where I spent my 33-year career.

I had to look close to see what little colorization you had done Rob. He looks like a philosopher to me and I think he is contemplating why you didn't give him more color. I have grown accustomed to your process and like most old people, I don't like change. :)

Isn't that Diogenes, looking for an honest man in Congress?

I think he's wasting what little time he has left.

I think the light flesh colour suits this image well - and with his white hair looks very natural. I believe his clothing would have been dark just as in the finished photo.
He sure is concentrating and looks rather weary.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

He sure is concentrating on the books at hand, I wonder sometimes what is going through their mind. Another jewel of work here
