The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

It looks like the dog is consoling the boy Rob. I love dogs and they truly are man's best friend. My current avie is my late dog Forrest. He died in my arms, so I know what you mean.
Great scene and well restored.

Merry Christmas

My first thought was the dog was comforting the poor, this is heartwarming. I'm a dog lover too, don't have any now but I have over the years Our lab Dakota I had to have put down a year ago Thanksgiving, he did not have a mean bone in his body. Excellent once again! tigs=^..^=

An urban setting, a well-dressed boy slouched, and a patient, attentive old dog - a touching photo.

Judging by the white on his muzzle, the dog appears to be old, the boy probably growing up with his furred friend. Interesting that he'd be tied up with a big chain instead of a rope. Also interesting is the architecture and the purpose of the building in whose entry the boy is sitting. It's a commercial or industrial building, for certain, the rounded steel bumper that he's sitting up against, in the vehicle entry door a dead giveaway. If a truck got too close to the brick door frame, its tire would hit that bumper first, keeping the bricks intact. Looking at this image as a thumbnail it's easy to spot the faint grill and headlight of a truck back there in the near darkness. In fact, this might even be a firehouse, a place that would hold the boys fascination and he would feel safe. There's a story here, one that could be easily expanded into something more.
