I'm guessing his Indian name is One Feather. Just a wild guess. He wouldn't look at the camera because he didn't want it to steal his spirit.
I wonder if this was taken on a reservation to record some history of the Native Americans. I like the colors you chose for the restoration.

He is a handsome and proud young man, for certain. I worked with various tribes and historic photos of their modes of dress and pattern of stitch, bead, and quillwork, and although I wish I could find my book of tribal patterns, I feel fairly certain that this man is Ojibwe. His head wrap and manner of wearing his single feather, which would indicate his level of experience, is also what makes me lean toward Ojibwe. The Ojibwe peoples are of various associated tribes, and the Ojibwe, Ojibwa, or Chippewa are an Anishinaabeg group of Indigenous Peoples in North America, known among many Indigenous peoples as Turtle Island. They live in Canada and the United States and are one of the largest Indigenous ethnic groups north of the Rio Grande. In Canada, they are the second-largest First Nations population, surpassed only by the Cree. In the United States, they have the fifth-largest population among Native American tribes, surpassed only by the Navajo, Cherokee, Choctaw and Lakota-Dakota-Nakota people.

You've done both an excellent restoration and colorization job, Rob.
I've read the comment of our friend 'Nik' as well. He always succeeds in adding some well documented and relevant details, making your very interesting work to a very special one as well.
Good cooperation with a maximum result. Thanks to both of you!

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
