Since I seldom look at the Gallery line first in these images, which also tells me the medium, my first thought at both thumbnail sizes was "Yeah it is fair weather; what looks to be a perfect day." (We removed all our mountains here in North Dakota, years ago—hey, that's what the billboards say, anyway—so I love mountain scenes.) Then I open it full to see it's digital! Nice work, Russ. Now if we could only control the weather like this all the time; no tornado-destroyed cities, no crop loss due to hail, perfect cloud cover for taking photos... 8D

Thank you for the nice comments, both of you.

Nikoneer, I have a lot of cousins on my father's side in the Forest River / Inkster area. Where are you located? Anyway, I've only been there once, in 1970. I was 12 years old and tried to be impressed by the places I'd heard so much about, but ND was indeed very flat and kind of…boring. I hear times are booming now though. And I didn't get to enjoy one of your brisk winters either. So now, I make renders of places I'd like to visit. Glad you liked the visit too.

A lovely landscape and a beautiful view I wouldn't mind taking in. A good rendering, I like the way the shadows fall across the slopes of the mountains.
