This is a result of playing, post-Thanksgiving, with some post-photo software...Topaz Adjust 5. This software comes with a lot of basic styles, each style having anywhere form 10 to 35 treatments, and each treatment can be manipulated with many different sliders. What appeals to my eye, on my monitor, might not be the same as what you would get (or will see on your monitor). I didn't save any of these results as pre-sets, although I wish I had. The original pic is on the far left and the rest are a few of the results of literally hours of playtime. I chose these for their differences; most of the results are variations on the 3 themes you see here. The subject is a very old door on a very old building in Caroline County, Virginia...shot late last summer. I chose it because it had a variety of textures and yet was small in size. You can see that original color is quite neutral and, halfway through my experiments, I was wishing I had put strong, primary-colored blocks on that door...just to see what would happen to them. Thanks for coming to take a look!

An interesting experiment. Hard to choose which to use if you were making a choice. I think I like number one best. lol

Another row of doors and filters in here and we'd have to refer to you as Virginia's answer to Andy Warhol. Perhaps that would be another cool experiment for you; this door with a wide variety of silk screen-style treatments (when I was in college, majoring in fine art, recreating a well-known artist's style was one of our more challenging assignments). Like Elizabeth, I pick door number 1 (on the far left).

If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.

Great minds function in the same pathways, Nik...my camera acting up again, I HAVE been playing around with different expressions of the same subject, but not of this door, and with less success (so far).

Now this is a cool cool representation and visual depiction of the software's potential.

And that.. is one great door.

Love to see you decide/choose a full-sized image and grace us with that.

And being bold here ... a B & W conversion as well. (This one just screams B &W to my eyes and mind.. textures in abundance, to name one facet.)

... ...

Now I want to shoot this door, lol.

Curious, how much more of the side of the house is available?

Just had the thought, perhaps, if this area is readily available to you.. and referencing the suggestions/requests above ... and on a compositional note ... to relegate the door to the lower right-hand side.

... ...

/\ Ehhhh.. me thinking/typing out loud there.

Nice work, Sharon.

And sincerely, I do hope you think about re-shooting this one, posting/uploading a full-sized version.
