We located this tunnel under a local motorway its seemed a good location to burn some wire wool. This was my first attempt at a fire orb. The exposure was burnt out slightly I guess this was the magnesium added to the mix. Maybe a weaker mix next time.

Lol, really Bri?

Have to forgive me, as I am laughing with you here, referencing your opening sentence in your accompanying narrative;

"We located this tunnel under a local motorway its seemed a good location to burn some wire wool."

I can't count the number of times that I have had this passing thought..

:oD

Ehhh ... probably used this combination of words where you and your work are concerned, however, forging ahead as it fits the commenting bill ... trés trés, cool shot.

Good good composition. Liking the one arc captured, and then that of the cascading sparks in the lower right-hand side

Add in the element of the stone floor/pathway ... works very well.

A tad overexposed in some very small spots, nothing major, really. Had you not mentioned it yourself, quite acceptable I believe to your viewers, given your subject matter. Expected, in a word.

Nice work. :o)

This really a unique and cool capture Bri. Love the way the sparks are bouncing off the walls & ceiling of the tunnel. Super job

Good spot wasn't it mate, perfect spot for a bit of wool spinning !! LOL. Shame we had to walk miles across muddy fields to get to it, worth the trek though. Sweet fire orb mate :-)

Seeing it as a thumbnail I thought it was a fractal. Then upon enlarging it I thought it was some sort of fireworks shot off in an unusual setting. And reading the post gave me no clues as I am not certain what wire wool is (I'm assuming it's the thin spun steel wire used for fine sanding or scrubbing pots and pans, but had no idea it came in sizes this large). Whatever the case may be, I find your shot to be unique and enjoyable, dropping a copy into my favorites file. Any spots of high exposure don't bother me in the least. As a photographer I know that the dynamics of physics and nature are what they are. While digitally capturing a large grouping of sparks, one expects to see brighter areas of concentration, just as an historian expects to see dust spots and scratches on historic photos. Sometimes way too too much analyzing goes on here at Caedes, so just let it go in one ear and out the other. And for my money, that 68 c-index should be at least 10 points higher. Nice job and thank for sharing this unique view with us.

Fantastic composition. Love the patterns...I must ask how did you get the orb pattern?

Nicely done!
