You must be right on the edge of this fog bank... that pier is not far beyond the sharply defined boat and yet it's lost half it's definition. A very calming and peaceful desktop image you've given us, Ted. By extending the fog-filled sky to a "rule of quarters" sort of thing, you've given emphasis to the fog and characterized it as the strongest element in the shot. One cannot look at this image and avoid the control the fog has over everything here, even the boat. The boat would normally just be a boat but, by it's severe contrast with the rest of the shot, it becomes a supporting element. Faved, saved, and into nomination.
