Copper Harbor Lighthouse on the point. Public access is not possible it is privately owned. But pictures can be taken by the lookout where we are at-or by boat or drone. This is the northern point of the keweenaw peninsula of the U.P. I think I have another one of this lighthouse with a closer view that I will share another time. But for me I loved the isolated feel of this one. This was taken towards the end of the day.

Thank you for your comments.

I like the faraway view of the lighthouse, Sandi. Great colors with the blues and the hint of evening lavender.

Sandi, the Copper Harbor Lighthouse is an 'oldie' as it was built in 1848 and was rebuilt in 1866. It's a relatively small one because its height is only 13 meters (42 feet).
It's no longer operational. Its function is done now by an adjacent 19 meters (62 feet) high skeleton tower that can be seen in your picture left of the old lighthouse.
A very fine capture. It exudes and isolated feeling indeed.

My guess is that you captured this one from the north shoreline of Fort Wilkins State Park, near the far north end of the peninsula, and that water-only horizon to the left of the lighthouse looks all the way across Lake Superior. My wife always kids me for over-planning our trips, but if I do not look throughout our intended route, online, we end up missing something cool y mere miles. Using your photos of the Copper peninsula as an example, it provides me with a good argument for that planning. Next time we head east we will rectify that miss.
