This is detail from the underside of one of the giant sized leaves on this plant now residing in my living room. The leaves can get 4-5' long and 3' wide! My largest one is about 2 feet long now. It has such interesting leaf patterns that are not visible from the front only from behind. I'll post the colored version sometime but I felt like this would be interesting in B&W.

At first I thought the image was out of focus, then I looked closer and saw those fine lines inside the sweeping secondary shapes between the major veins. It definitely is interesting and noteworthy in B&W (which is all I shot and hand-processed and printed for several years in college, in the darkroom so much I sort of grew moss on all four sides of me), and I am looking forward to seeing the color version. Incidentally, since the leaves reach such gigantic proportions, I am wondering just how many times per week do you conduct football practice in your living room... or do the parked semi trucks take up too much room? You see, dear, I'm just concerned about the safety of your furniture. ;oP

Happy Trails (with a nod to Roy Rogers and Dale Evans)

Kathy, due to the enormous size of the leaves, this giant species of the Philodendron is less known as a houseplant compared to the smaller Philodendron scandens.
I saw the Philodendron giganteum in the open air in the Saba National Land Park at Saba, a small Dutch island in the Caribbean.
Very special image, not only because it's kept indoors by you, but also for the B&W version. Wonderful textures too!
