These are mixed color cherry tomatoes I can get in winter. They are grown through hydraponics in Canada. This is my entry for the still life contest which has only 6 days left and NO entries. Mimi has been posting on the contest page in the bulletin board for the last several contests - asking for votes and then giving the winners. Apparently the automated program is not working still. Please consider an entry so we can keep this tradition going!

Kathy, this is what we need: enough vitamin C to get through the winter well.

A very good entry for the 'Still Life' contest. I wish you every success with it.

That there are no other participants for this contest now, is a sign on the wall. I myself also stopped making contest contributions however, despite the efforts of Mimi to keep the phenomenon going. I stopped for various reasons. I've explained a few things about this in the discussion board.
I'm afraid it's going in the same direction as it was with the by Lyn-initiated B&W challenge.

Another writing on the wall is the dramatic decline in contributions from Caedes members. I fear for the future of this site.

This makes a superb entry Kathy! I too worry about the contest. We will need at leaste 4 more to make it fair. I don't think I have anything at the moment. I guess I should take a look see. tigs=^..^=

Wait, didn*t I read something months ago, that five entries was not enough either? There was a recent contest that had only four but other, that had well more, still weren*t producing a winner, at least none that I could see. Perhaps I am missing something?

A nice still life, Kathy, with good color and focus, but I would have suggested it be perfectly centered. Painting them in college we were instructed that these were the rare exception to the rule of composition, that the still life was an exercise in light and color, more than anything, and that the subject needed neutral space around it in order to thrive on its own.

The beauty of this lies in its simplicity of concept, design, and color. Well done!
