You're right on. A very simple desktop type photo. I have no doubt it'll be on dozens of computer monitors within a few days. I know this'll sound stupid, but the shot has a real liquid motion feel to it.
My kind of desktop... especially when I have a lot of computer work to do and I don't want to get distracted. Also the dark color makes my single column of icons easy to see. :)
The reason why the sunsets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
In full view, I don't even know I'm looking at water... it's more like an abstract oil painting, royal in colour and soft fluid textures! A very soothing and excellent capture, DP!
This is quite nice. I like the color and texture. I wouldn't put it up on my wall (which is probably why it didn't get a high C-Index), but it's good for a desktop.
If you took a shot with something in the water (probably as a silhouette), a plant, rocks, part of a boat, etc., it would work as a standalone picture.
There are few situations in life that cannot be honourably settled, and without any loss of time, either by suicide, a bag of gold, or by thrusting a despised antagonist over the edge of a precipice on a dark night.

For our dreams we will fight, and we'll write
the future history less bloody than the past,
with our dreams we'll build a peace to last!"

The blue and black bring out the texture of the water very well. For some reason it makes me think Pirates of the Caribbean, but that could just be my twisted mind at work :)
