Be glad that they are not cuddly, DP, lol.

Very good capture, my friend. Well done.

Amazing creatures and a great capture with the dof blacking out all around so we can see the detail and the lights. Find these things all over the beaches of Long Island Sound and they disarm me.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

The background you used is perfect to show off the bright colors.

I have had a fond appreciation for aquariums of all sizes, all my life (raising tropicals in 9 tanks as a teenager), so I know how difficult underwater photography is, particularly through the distortion of glass. So I gave this one a 9 in the booth. That warm color of the veining in the jelly's head is amazing, as is the perfect contrast with the black background (and not some tacky ceramic beach house surrounded by plastic palm trees). A bit sharper focus (and that could be achieved by using Smart Sharpen in Photoshop, provided you have a copy) and it would have been a 10. However, recent discussion threads have indicated that the site disregards votes of 10 (some nonsense about it being outside the norm) so perhaps it's better that it receive a 9 instead. At least this way the vote will work in your favor. A simple but beautiful composition. Did you know that only some people have bad reactions to the sting of a jelly? And that jellyfish poison is cumulative; it never leaves your body and if you receive multiple stings, the poison simply accumulates inside you. A good reason to avoid these creatures. Useful or useless (?) trivia I learned as a scuba diver.

If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.
