2nd place
Tulip by LynEve

jeenie11: a real beauty.

rvdb: Congratulations on your win Lyn a very good entry.

Rob

LynEve: Thank you to all for your kind words!

Several of you have mentioned the water droplet and I feel I must mention that it was not perfect timing on my part that captured it. Sadly my reflexes are not fast enough ! In fact, although all the drops on the flower are real, the droplet was added afterwards.

My original title for this image was Crying In The Rain. Each October my tulips flower and I am reminded of a loved one I lost at this time of year, who was very fond of these flowers. I photograph them every year, and this particular shot was in the rain. I blacked out the background in PSP with the burn tool and then added the droplet because I was crying and the tulip appeared to be as well. For me tulip and the water drops portrayed the simplicity of something with a hidden meaning because I knew that when the sun comes out it will open up and show its inner beauty which for me are the beautiful memories that are beneath the sadness.

5th place
Elegant Curves by billyoneshot

BarnArt: Nice shot Billy! I think the model year would be closer to the '39 -'40 era, the 50's model fords had a completely different body style. The Cobra emblem probably is a clue to what is under the hood I would guess (to answer luckyshot).
