2nd place
Waiting, Watching, Wishing by Jynxxd

purmusic: Thanks for the visual cue to take the tour of your galleries. Saw your name before and some of your images/uploads. You have a varied and great gallery, well worth the tour. :o)

Back to your image here..

A good good manipulation. Caught my eye in and amongst the new images and here's I be.

Strong composition.

Great use of colour and the posturing portrayed is excellent. Well suited on the notes of composition and concept. And as mentioned above, well done on the lighting aspect.

Caveats?

Small niggle, at best.

The wall of stone on the right-hand side's textures. Perhaps that of change in Blending mode and/or reduced Contrast might provide the lil' assist to compliment it's adjacent left-hand side.

That nonsense of mine aside..

Wonderful work.

Annnd..

Thanks for sharing this one with us. It is a very nice piece and well thought out.

Best of luck to you in the contest. :o)

3rd place
Farm Reflections by b8264d

b8264d: Thanks, it has become a pretty popular image. ;o)

twinkel: The infra red and the reflection are a perfect match together! Looks like a winterday that ends with a stunning sunset.

:o)

b8264d: Thanks! I've fallen in love with infrared photography and this is only going to make me do more of it. lol

4th place
The Fog is Lifting by palral

luckyshot: RogerDot - This is how I felt when I woke up this morning! The fog serves as a reverse haze filter, adding fuzziness and hiding details which is kind of cool. With taking the photo with sunlight directly in the image, there is some banding and blowout in the upper right corner. Shifting the view to the slightly left could have minimized that, provided that scene was acceptable. Thad

5th place
Introspective by Tootles

Joanie: Totally cool and superb girl!!!! Love the design and those awesome colors!

LynEve: Beautiful work and a splendid entry :)

tbob: a dropshadow on the chain would have really made this thing pop

purmusic: (*checks face in mirror*)

Lil' red..

Thought I had commented on your piece here, as I distinctly remember when you posted it (simply put, and as I am want to say at times.. 'a standout, in and amongst the new images').

And would echo the thoughts and words above me.

Aside from the technical considerations, your image is more about evocation for me.

Strange as this may sound, or not.. get the feeling of comfort and that of being safe as a child, somewhat caught up in the fantasy world of your creation here.

Lots of things to see and investigate, all friendly creatures and a most welcoming and intriguing environment to explore.

Colour palette is great throughout. Good good composition.

Nice to see that you were rewarded in the contest for your creative efforts. Most deserving entry. :o)
