For our newest Artist Spotlight we present to you Mick, better known as LANJOCKEY around here on caedes.net. Be sure to browse and leave comments in his gallery of gorgeous scenic images.

I feel humble and honored to have been nominated for the Artist Spotlight… Many, many thanks to all artists at Caedes who nominated me… To tell you the truth this actually scares the hell out of me…. What have I done to deserve this?

To acquaint you with the specifics of my background…My name is Mick Light, born in Surrey,England… I moved with my parents to a small village in Aberdeenshire, Scotland where I was educated before enlisting into the Royal Navy and served for 36 years… I have been married for 35 years and have two wonderful sons and one beautiful 2 year old granddaughter who is the apple of my eye… At present I reside in the beautiful county of Cornwall, England.

I found Caedes whilst surfing the internet… I found that Caedes opened a whole New World of opportunity for all of us artists. With the vast amount of pictures available to view it has never been easier to communicate with such wonderful people on this site.

I love to paint landscapes in oils, but I am afraid my photography has taken over from the canvas and paint brush…..It wasn’t long ago that my fascination with digital photography began. At that time I was impressed with the potential of this technology offered to photographers, that was four years ago.

At present I use a Fujifilm Finepix S6O2-Zoom and with this camera I try to produce images that communicate ideas or feelings, document times past and glimpse of societies, people and places.

I love to view other artists pictures and I must say they are all wonderful… I always remind myself that every image on Caedes is precious to the person that posted it.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all viewers for looking at my pictures and for the recognition, it is so much appreciated… Thank you again.

Mick (LANJOCKEY)
