Well, this might be relatively late, but you guys should definitely be on the lookout for comet Mcnaught. It's one of the most stunning comets I've ever seen. Depending on your location it could still be viewable for the next couple of days. It's relatively close to Venus after sunset (S - SW direction).

The tail is amazing to see. Just a pity I didn't have any equipment that I could use to take a few shots of it.
