Enter three for free before December 4, 2009. The images have to have been shot during 2009 and can fall into any of ten categories: architecture, conceptual and constructed, documentary, fashion, landscape, music, natural history, portraiture, sport, and campaign award (the theme for this last category being "Football Amplified"). Top prize is $5,000 plus a Sony "gift," presented during an April 15, 2010, gala in Cannes (winner gets a two-night trip for two to attend). The winner also gets passes to World Photography Festival screenings, workshops, exhibitions, talks and other events that week in Cannes.
Winners in each of the 10 categories have their work exhibited on a global tour and published and receive a Sony "gift." (Why so vague? Dunno. Looks like a big-budget undertaking.)
