I suggested once before a 'Work In Progress" gallery. How about an "Experimental' gallery where members could post images they are not sure are suitable for general posting. I am thinking along the lines of those dabbling in genres other than their main ones and needing some feedback on how to improve their techniques. It may prevent some lesser than acceptable images being posted for consideration in other areas and could lead to an overall increase in standards. I have several 'experimental' works (some would see them as rubbish) that I would be embarrassed to upload but would love to have some advice as to where I have failed with them, and how to improve. Learning something new could be made much easier with help and advice given by those with more expertise. I believe there are many willing to give that advice. Also many that would benefit but are hesitant to ask personally. It could also generate more appreciation of how other types of work are created and result in greater respect for the 'different' work of others. (We all know that fractals are simply created by pushing a couple of buttons and that photography is just a matter of point and shoot lol. Both those myths could be addressed.)
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust . . . . The aim of argument, or of discussion, should not be victory, but progress." ~ Joseph Joubert (1754-1824)
