A federal judge ruled teacher led recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States of America is illegal to be recited in public schools because it refers to one nation under God. It violates the childrens right to be " free from a coercive requirement to affirm God." The judge wrote that he was bound by a US Circuit Court of Appeals decision which in 2002 ruled in favor of a Sacramento atheist. Funny thing though, the State Education Code requires that all school children participate in daily patriotic exercises. Some say you arent pledging allegiance to God but to the country and some say say the pledge and add higher power or omit God but then recall all coins that say in God we trust. What do you think? Next may be the end of the song God Bless America. Some have said I am frustrated and tired by the smallest minorities exerting their wills on the overwhelming majority on this issue and on the other side we have If this is to be a country of religious freedom then that must include freedom from religion. HMMMMM!!
