Hi all...I'd like to express a concern with respect to the new voting system. No, I'm not intent on bashing Caedes.net in this regard....I only wish to see the system "work" as well as possible. Here's my concern...A new image goes up. The initial c-index is calcluated based on the first 5 or 10 votes it gets in the voting booth (correct?) If a couple-few of people rate that image very low, the initial c-index will likely be quite low. My concern is that, the way I understand the system, that image no longer has any priority in the voting booth . . . new images do, as do older images still awaiting c-index stats. Hence, the image is basically "locked" with a relatively low c-index based on a relatively low number of votes, it no longer shows up very often in the voting booth, does not get attention on the main page via TNI and, in essence, is likely destined to do relatively poorly based on the votes of a couple-few people. Is my thinking in this regard inaccurate or is it true that a relatively few number of votes seem to largely determine the "fate" of many images? Thanks for giving my concern consideration.
