Built above the temple of Juno Moneta and in the location of a Greek monastery [vii century] that later will pass to the Benedictine with the name of S. Maria in Capitolio, had the appellative “Aracoeli” when the Virgin appeared with a Holy Child to the Emperor Ottavianus. The Emperor then edified to the Unknown God a temple (Ara) to remember that extraordinary moment of his life. This church is one of the most rich in mysteries in Rome. In fact Roma in reverse is Amor and Dante Alighieri said in the Holy Comedy (Paradise): "Amor che move l'sole ed anco le stelle" (Love who moves the sun and the stars too). Comments are welcome
