The birth of the building is to be seen officially on 25 January 1240, when the Emperor Federico II Hohenstaufen ordered the construction of a castle dedicated to Sancta Maria de Monte. The structure of the building is strongly esoteric and dense of symbols. The emperor was very loved in Italy and Germany. He speaked multiple languages: Latin, Arabic, Greek, German, Italian. The first treaty about the falconry was written by this extraordinary man, called Stupor Mundi for his culture. This treaty is still used.
