I came across the killdeer down at the duck pond earlier today. A victim of the late spring who decided to take up temporary residence at the pond until conditions in the wild improve. Here he is hanging out with the 49th robin of spring. The robins returned about a week ago and I could have messed up my count as they can be a tad difficult to keep still long enough to be tagged and counted.
