I'm finally on holidays, August was a month of many work. I'm back with some photos from the city of Guimarăes that was the first capital of Portugal and the place were the nation born. All because the dream of the man in the photo, D. Afonso Henriques first king of Portugal, nickname The Conqueror. D. Afonso Henriques always dream in turn the Portucalense County independent from the Kingdom of Leon, after the dead of his father (The Count Henry of Burgundy) D. Afonso Henriques fight against Afonso VI King of Castile and León (his Grandfather) and against Teresa of Leon (his Mother) and he turn the County in a independent nation and he was proclaimed King on July 26, 1139, immediately after the Battle of Ourique.
