Contradiction in terms here (musically). Blues is generally associated with lost love, cheating spouses, drinking, prison and any number of unfortunate life events. This is a positive spin on the blues. "Happy Blues," you say? You bet. The reason blues is tragedy based is that life's tragedies generate the most intense emotions. The best music comes from conveying intense emotions through the art of music; coming from the heart. The end of the songs are usually tipped with gold though as a parting thought ;) I want to write a blues tune after I experience an intense happy emotion.
