This is a detail view of the second story of the Otto Henry Building in the courtyard of Schloss Heidelberg. Built by Prince Elector Otto Henry, the palace was five stories tall. It is considered one of the most artisitically significant palaces in the castle and most magnificent example of German Renaissance secular architecture. Each story had sculptures in window niches. The second story sculptures represented the Five Virtues. The Virtue of Love is centered over the main entrance with a medallion depicting Otto Henry at her feet. The upper stories look incomplete because the building was gutted by a great fire in 1764.
