The original of the background image can be viewed here...When I was a kid, I could remember when the Parachute Ride at Coney Island was running, and I sooooo wanted to ride it...but I did not make the minimum height requirements, and by the time I did...the ride had been already closed down for about two seasons...The skeletal remains of the ride were taken apart and re-worked and then re-assembled about two years ago...The structure has been a designated NYC landmark for about two decades...See Also: Manhattan Chic 7...
