...The ILA has not called a strike of this magnitude since 1977, and back then, the US was not nearly as dependent upon other countries for many of the consumer goods sold within its borders... Depending upon how long the ILA can hold out, this fiasco could have an impact upon the economy, product availability (My sister and I went to the Costco in our area today, and noticed the store was entirely sold out of bottled water and paper products - Thank goodness we make sure our own shelves are stocked every month!), the already stressed job market, and give our US dollar even less buying power than now! Not good...
