This is part of the Bishop Strachan School built in Toronto. It was founded by John Langtry in 1867, as an institution different from most other schools for women at that time. The founders opened the doors with the intention of educating girls and teaching them to be leaders. It was a new idea in it's day,but this group believed that women were equals when at a time when the idea was radical. The school has approximately 896 day students and 80 boarding students. The boarding program starts in Grade 7 with boarders coming from all over Canada and the world.
