Objects travel toward the vanishing point of this corridor at nearly the speed of light. This is a glimpse of SLAC (The Stanford Linear Accelerator Center), likely the straightest 2 mile structure ever built. I had the privilege to visit this lab a couple of years ago. The accelerator is in a tube to the left hand side of the corridor, not visible in the photo. The control room is actually in a separate area. I superimposed a part of it on the structure of the corridor. I felt that was needed to better portray the activity at this historic place. The lab is a center of research in particle physics. Work here has resulted in 6 Nobel Prizes.
