The Russell lupin (Lupinus polyphyllus) was first documented as being naturalised in New Zealand in 1958. The story goes that seeds were thrown to the roadsides from bus windows by tour groups. It now covers enormous areas, especially in the Canterbury region and makes a magnificent sight when in flower. However, it does cause problems by invading the braided river beds of the South Island. . . . Taken with Canon 450D. I hope you like it and welcome and appreciate any comments/critique
