From my garden - for Friday :)
Sometimes called the Winter Rose or the Christmas rose. It seems not to matter how battered these flowers get - they still come up smiling and are a welcome sight in mid winter.
They are quite difficult to photograph as they face downwards and grow close to the ground - about 9-12 inches.
Used in herbal medicine in earlier times I have learned that someone called Parkinson claimed they are 'good for mad and furious men, for melancholy, dull and heavie persons, and briefly for all those with blacke choler, and molested with melancholy.'!
Well :)
Taken with Canon 450D. Thanks for viewing.
