Meet Lachland. He is 10 months old and is still being nurtured by his mother. She was not around when I got down on my hands and knees to get this close up shot :)
Highland cattle are very hardy and they have a double coat of hair - a downy undercoat and a long outer coat which is oiled to shed rain and snow. His coat was beautifully soft and warm from the sunshine he was basking in.
