I put this in the Still Life Gallery because the lives of the women who treasured these engagement rings are now stilled, but the life they gave lives on.
The one on the left belonged to my mother-in-law and the other one was her mothers (it is well over 100 years old).
It was much more difficult to photograph them than I expected. I tried many different backgrounds, settings, and light and approx 100 efforts went in the bin ! Taken with Canon 450D, 60mm macro lens. This was not the clearest result but it is the one I like best.
